Overview

Before the banks, the boards and the quantum roadmaps, there was the Big Red One. Three years as a 12 Bravo combat engineer with the 1st Engineer Battalion, 1st Infantry Division — the trade that builds what the advance needs and removes what stands in its way.

Part of that was logistics intelligence for NATO REFORGER exercises in Germany: moving formations at scale, on a schedule, where the plan meets weather and terrain and a vehicle that will not start. It is the least glamorous version of the same problem I have worked on ever since — the distance between a plan on paper and a thing that actually happens.

Air Assault School followed, then the Big Red One Chapter Scholarship, and an honourable discharge with the National Defense Service Medal, two Army Achievement Medals and the Schützenschnur. Everything after this is downstream of it.
